Mr. GUO Ligen was appointed Vice Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) in December 2005.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. GUO served as Assistant Chairman of the CBRC (June 2005-December 2005), Director-General of the Human Resources Department of the CBRC (July 2003 ¨C June 2005), Director-General of the Human Resources and Education Department and Director-General of the Training Center of the People¡¯s Bank of China (PBC) (January 2001 ¨C July 2003), Deputy Director-General of the Human Resources and Education Department and Deputy Director-General of the Training Center of the PBC (August 1998 ¨C January 2001), Deputy Director-General of the Human Resources Department of the PBC (May 1994 ¨C August 1998). In addition, he had also held various posts in the Education Department and Department of the PBC from 1984 to 1994. And, he served in the People¡¯s Liberation Army from December 1972 to December 1984.
Mr. GUO was born in 1955 in Beijing. He is married with one son.
